Please do not use this cold system with copper or metal links if there is any sensitivity or allergies to metals.  Please inform your client of all materials used prior to application.

Some clients may be candidates that experience slippage due to extremely thin hair, natural oily hair/scalp, or if they use certain hair products.  Please make sure that their hair is prepared properly prior to installation by using a detoxifying shampoo and no product on hair after the shampoo whatsoever. You can use the "fold the link like a taco and close it like a book" technique by using the "half hole" tools, or you can also use the silicone-lined links.  You must also make sure that you are filling the link with enough natural hair with the extension hair.  Please note that there are clients that may not be good candidates for hair extension due to slippage issues due to hair type and no fault of their own, the product, or the installer.

NO CHEMICALS OR HEAT ARE NECESSARY FOR THE COLD SYSTEM!

Your choice of any Installation and removal tools

The Basic tools are smaller than the Everything tools and are great for beginners or if you prefer to use smaller tools.  The Everything tools are larger and have more weight to them and are ergonomically designed.

The tools with the “O” hole are a 2-N-1 tool.  They are used to install with the flat tip. Install with the flat tip by compressing the link flat once the bonded tip hair extension and the natural hair is installed into the link by using a threader.  And they are also used to remove by inserting the link into the “O” hole and by using a squeezing motion the link will open up and the hair extension can be removed.

The tools with the "half" holeare used for installation purposes and not for removal.  This tool is used for the folding method and/or used in the event you have a client that has issues with slippage.  There are 3 steps in using the folding method:  1. The link is installed by using the flat tip as in the regular method.   2.   Then the link is then made into the shape of a “U shape” or “taco shape” by inserting the link into the “half hole” and squeezing it.  3.  The final step is by using the flat tip again you squeeze the link and close it like a book.

The pic removertool is used to remove the links by inserting the tines are inserted into the top and bottom openings of the link and gently squeezing with an up and down motion opening the tube so that the hair extension may be withdrawn.

This Dual Slot nose Toolcombines 3 methods in to one tool:  (1) installation:  the "U" 1/2 Hole to install for the "folding" method and  (2) removal "O" hole to open links, and (3) the flat head of the tool allows you to install (flatten) the links.

The triple tools are tools used for a more experienced user and combine all the functions into one tool but may be tricky to use if you are not as experienced in using the tools;  the have the pic remover tool added onto the ends of this tool.  There are 2 triple tools

Prepare client’s hair for installation by using a detoxifying or clarifying shampoo making sure no conditioner or any other product is used after rinsing.

Sectioning
(1)  To determine where the partings will start take a comb and place it at the top back of the head.  Where the comb leaves the head is where the parting will start.
(2)
Make a parting from that point to the top back of the ear.
(3)
Determine where you want your first track to go.The first row is usually from the back of the middle of the ear all the way across to the back of the middle of the ear.
(4)  There are many invariable in installing the strands.  If the hair is thin and shorter you may want to "pack them in" the first 2-3 rows; this describes installing the extensions right next to each other across the row and section the next row right above the previous row leaving no hair out of the extensions.
(5)  After establishing weight for the first 2-3 rows, you can now "brick row" the extensions; this described installing the extensions on every other piece of hair and on the next row above the row you've just installed you will install an extension above an strand there there is an empty space with no extension installed there.  The effect will be like a checker board; every other strand will be installed above every other but moved over by one space.
(6)
Continue up the head until you reach the top leaving enough hair at the top to cover the last row of extensions.

Now that you are finished with the back you can start work on the sides in front.
Make sure all the rows follow the curve of the head.

You will install about 3-4 rows of "packed in" extensions on the sides in front making sure you do not go all the way to the front hairline.
Start the first row in the front side just above the corner of the eye matching it up to the corner of a track coming from the back.

Load link of choice onto threader of choice
If you are using Dinkie Links with a flange end, load the link flange side down

2 threader options:

(1)  Loop Threader-most popular and easier to use.  Pre-load links onto threader.  Pull a piece of hair through the loop and push the link onto the hair and insert the bonded tip of the hair extension into the link and use an installation tool to compress the link.
(2)  Hook Threader, this is the latch hook method
Pre-load links onto threader.  Pull a piece of hair through the hook and let the latch drop onto the hair closing the hook tip.   Push the link onto the hair and install the link onto the hair strand.  Insert the bonded tip of the hair extension into the link and use an installation tool to compress the link.

Sectioned off 1/4 inch strand of hair

Hook Threader
(1)  Slightly twist 1/4" sectioned hair so there are no renegade hairs and the strand will fit easily onto the hook of the hook threader.
(2)  Slide 1/4" sectioned hair onto hook of hook threader
(3)  Push up on the link which will close the little latch at the tip of the hook allowing you to slide the link onto the hair.
The hair is now installed ready for the next steps.

Loop Threader
(1)  Slide 1/4" sectioned hair into the loop threader.
(2)  Push up on one of the links onto the hair while pulling the Loop Threader tool in a downward motion away from the head
The hair is now installed rea
dy for the next steps.

Inserting I tipped hair extension into installed link

Rest one hand on the client's head holding the sectioned off hair strand with the link now installed, with the free hand insert the pre-bonded hair strand into the link and hold with the hand resting on the client's head.

Enough hair must be sectioned off to fill the link. Once the pre-tipped hair extension is inserted into the link joining the client's natural hair, the link must be filled entirely and there should not be any gaps. If the link is not fully filled, you may experience slipping.

2 methods of installation:

(1)   For this method you can use the tool with the hole in the middle.

Using free hand with the installation tool, squeeze down on installed link enough to compress the pre-bonded tip into the sectioned strand. You can compress the top, middle, and bottom of the link until it is securely closed, but without damaging the link.

(2)  F
or this method you can use the tool with the half hole in the middle so you can fold the link.

This can be used for clients that have hard to hold hair.  After you close the link flat, slip the link into the divot of the half hole and squeeze together to form a "u" shape which folds it like a taco. Once you fold it like a taco you can close it completely like a book by folding both ends of the now curved link together completely.

Compress the link at the top, middle, and bottom making sure the link is secure. If the link is not compressed properly, you may experience slipping. You may also use the tool with the "half hole" to bend the link like a taco shell, then close the link like a book. Please make sure the client has washed hair with a clarifying shampoo and has no conditioner or any other product in hair.

The link & extension have now been installed making sure that the link is not installed too close to the top of the client's natural sectioned hair strand and that the link & extension are installed straight up and down, not pulled out and away from the head. The bond of the pre-tipped extension should be fully covered by the link, the hair extension tip should not be poking out of the top or bottom. It may be necessary to trim the bond on the pre-tipped extension prior to installation.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT FOR INSTALLATION OF i-TIPPED HAIR EXTENSIONS, THE LINK COVERS THE ENTIRE i-TIP.  IF YOU ARE USING SMALL LINKS OR MICRORINGS FOR THE SIDES PLEASE TRIM THE TIP DOWN APPROPRIATELY.  THE SMALL SHORT LINKS ARE TOO BE USED IN AREAS SUCH AS THE SIDES AND AROUND THE EARS, NOT MEANT FOR ENTIRE HEAD.

Please choose the proper size link for the correct application, read the description of link sizes on the products page to choose the correct size, improper selection of the link size may cause slipping.

Removal, Option 1:
This is an installation/removal tool with a hole in the middle.

Place flattened installed link into round notch of the tool. Squeeze gently to re-open link into original tube shape. Push link in an upward motion, link will separate from pre-tipped hair extension. Slide down the hair extension and remove, and finally slide down the link removing it completely.

Removal, Option 2:
This is a Pic Remover Tool.

Occasionally you'll find a difficult to remove link, these can be resolved by using the pic tool.  You can also remove silicon-lined links with this tool.  The tines are inserted into the top and bottom openings of the link and gently squeezing with an up and down motion opening the tube so that the hair extension may be withdrawn.
